Why does my watch fog up in winter?-Wishdoit watches

Why does my watch fog up in winter?

There are several reasons for a fogged up crystal watch. One of them is the temperature difference that occurs when you leave a warm room out for a winter walk, or vice versa. Surface condensation of water vapour is a well-known phenomenon not only among watches, but is also often visible in nature. What is it about? It is based on the condensation of water vapour on the surface of a given object on its warmer side.

A watch, which is on a warm wrist (and sweaty skin) all day long, reacts to the cold resulting in a fogged up crystal. A similar situation occurs when we try to dry our model after contact with moisture by exposing it to a higher temperature and causing water to condense.

Who invented the chronograph? - Wishdoit Watches

Who invented the chronograph?

The invention of the chronograph is attributed to Louis Moinet, a French watchmaker who created the first chronograph in 1816. Moinet's chronograph was designed to measure astronomical events and it was called a "compteur de tierces" or third counter.

However, the first commercial chronograph was produced by Nicolas Rieussec in 1821, who was also a French watchmaker. Rieussec was commissioned by King Louis XVIII to create a device that could accurately measure the time taken by horse races. Rieussec's chronograph used inked pens that marked the dial to record the elapsed time.
